The above map shows the numerous crimes which have happened on and around the Old Dominion University campus since October 1, 2008. Old Dominion University and the city of Norfolk are hoping to ease fears about a rise in violent crimes in campus-area neighborhoods, including a shooting death. University and city leaders said Friday that they plan to work together to increase patrols and cooperate on investigations, and officials may consider putting a police station or substation nearby.
